About The Artist

Hello everyone: my name is James August Warsing Jr. I live here in Harrisonburg Virginia. I am a diversified artist and have been for 34 years professionally. I do three dimensional sculpting in rock glass by sandblasting or by using a 400,000 rpm hydro turbo diamond carver. When I demonstrate to an audience all my art work is done free handed and is one of a kind. My work has been seen in granite memorial head stones for deceased loved ones or in metals, wood, and clay for your special pets. No computers are used to do my art work.
I personally have tattooed over 32,000 clients been to Europe, Canada, all over US. I have sandblasted in marble a small Duke Dog. I would like to do a large one for the JMU Centennial Celebration in March. I also have sandblasted a memorial for VT in black granite. I would like a JMU student or organization to give this small VT etching to a student or organization on VT campus. I would like to raise the money to do the larger one that would be the Portraits of the 32 lost ones from VT on black granite which will be 600 pounds, and for the JMU Duke Dog we would like to have a larger piece to be finished for the March Centennial celebration. So I would like to see if Madisons student organization will help me raise the money to do this project and to get to show it around campus and take pictures with the piece and hear what they say about us giving a memorial to VT. In September of 2008 I will be doing a documentary of the top twenty best tattoo artists and sandblasting artists in all of Australia four years, interviewing Aborigine learning their ways, what their culture and beliefs are, to give talks to 9th - 12 graders and universities about the options they have with getting their first tattoo and what options they have in removing unwanted tattoos safely, teaching them my method and technique. I want to take two university students from James Madison University to do the video and writing to get credits for the project down under, and to have a learning tool burnt into a DVD with my other new book I wrote. This is how I am raising the money to do this and also I am working on getting an artist from Australia to live here and work in my studio while I am doing my project. Here is my website you can go to http://home.rica.net/jawstattoo and see more. Thank you , from the Artist James August Warsing jr . known as TJ
